Peanut Butter Cookies

1 c shortening
1 c peanut butter
1 c white sugar
1 c brown sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 t vanilla
1 t baking soda
2 c flour

Cream shortening; add sugar gradually and cream until light and fluffy. Add eggs. Add Peanut butter & vanilla & combine thoroughly. Add dry ingredients & blend well. When mixed make small balls 3/4 inch in diameter. Place on cookie sheet. Press balls flat with tines of a fork. Bake about 12 min in a moderately hot oven (400 degrees F). Yield: 4 dozen cookies
